You don’t get a chance, which usually leads the first two being the criteria of judgement. They used to get social status from the men they married — and, it seems like this mindset has continued (and, even penetrated into the lesbian community.) Additionally, women continue to earn less than men, and often need help with the logistical aspects of life.Often when dating men, I feel like a horse being analyzed as breeding stock. Many women are willing to sacrifice their sexual desires in favor of material support.American men will rush to get you in bed as quick as possible, while European men don’t appear to have the same rush (or desperation). European men don’t ‘date’ – in the formal way that Americans are used to.The types of dates seen in movies – the formal ask, the fancy dinner and the entire dance that ensues simply doesn’t exist in the European mindset, in fact, the word “dating” isn’t even a part of their lexicon. Unlike American culture, where there’s almost a rite of passage which takes two people from “hooking up” to “seeing each other” to “dating” to “exclusive”, these labels just aren’t a focus or concern for European men. Rather, the mentality is, “I like you, I want to see you, and if it’s enjoyable, let’s keep seeing each other”.Women who sign up for online dating have an unlimited supply of men offering them dates, sex, and long term companionship.Despite all these options, 90% of these potential suitors are ignored because they are perceived as not being good enough (too short, old, ugly, bald, poor, or socially isolated). When women do respond, the conversation goes nowhere (ie. Sometimes they may meet a woman for coffee however afterwards she will stop replying or tell them because she lacks interest.
Guys send messages out on online dating websites, but get little or no replies.
I’m not to judge that one is better than the other, and mind you, my observations are based on my own experiences as well as a group of women I’ve interviewed in the last two years.
The below is a list of some of the themes and commonalities observed.
There is virtually no comparison between an average single man with no friends compared to his female counterpart when it comes to dating.
While for a man having no friends or social circle guarantees women will reject him, for women this is often seen as a positive trait because legions of lonely men appreciate her availability and perceived weakness.
